This award is to acknowledge an outstanding individual who has shown dedication, commitment and made a significnt contribution to Rugby League in our Club and the State of Victoria.

Each year, Mernda dragons rugby league club has many people that contribute their time and resources to helping the club. These contributions are highly valued and whilst we cannot always recognise everyone's efforts, we do attempt to recognise some of the more outstanding acts.

Award Description
-
The Club person of the year award is awarded and presented annually to a Mernda Dragons Rugby League Club individual or team of any membership grade (player, official, supporter or parent), in recognition of performing above and beyond the call of duty normally required of a member.

This person has been judged to have made the most significant contribution to the health, welfare and improvement of the club and its members and exhibits attributes in keeping with the Mernda Dragons Rugby League Club Code of Conduct and NRL Victoria Code of Conduct

Award Criteria Considered

Must be a financial member/s of Mernda Dragons Rugby League Club

Are a role model and ambassador for Mernda Dragons Rugby League Club

Volunteers time freely and goes above and beyond any position held at the club

Supports all Mernda Dragons Rugby League Club Members

Encourages good sportsmanship and equity

Person who helps on home games volunteering in the canteen / bbq duties

Acts in the best interest of all club members
Nomination and Selection process

Nominations are invited by all registered members and are to be completed via the attached link, no later than 23rd August each year.

All nominations will be considered by the Club Executive Committee (selection committee)

The Club person of the Year Award will be determined by a majority ballot of the Selection Committee
-
NOTE: An award may not necessarily be granted each year. This may be because there are no nominations received, or the Selection Committee may deem that the nomination/s do not meet the criteria.

Decisions made by the Executive Committee are final and no appeals will be entered into

The successful recipient will have their name engraved on the perpetual trophy / shield
